After observing outdoor spaces, I’ve become interested in how artificial systems are often accepted as part of the landscape. These observations led me to question political and social norms around land ownership, control, and how humans organise and define space. In response, I developed a series of typefaces inspired by these imposed structures. Typography was chosen as the primary outcome, as it is itself a structured system used to organise communication.

I created 5 typefaces and displayed these in an 88 page publication printed on multiple paper stock and colours, to complement this I also made an short animation for each typeface. The typefaces, listed in order of appearance, are as follows: Chains, Hay Bales, Coir Rolls, Boundaries and Gates.
